John Brown are pleased to announce that the educational website Power Discovery Zone (PDZ), which the agency produced for Western Power Distribution (WPD), has been shortlisted in the Digital Collections and Resource Banks category at the annual BETT Awards.

Power Discovery Zone is part of WPD’s initiative to provide safety education to schools, encouraging best practice and awareness among pre-teen children. It’s a fun, entertaining programme that also links into resources at Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum.

Jocelyn Meekums, Education Liaison Officer at WPD said, “We are immensely proud of Power Discovery Zone, and the fact that the work has been recognised by the BETT awards.

“Having worked on a number of educational projects, our approach has always been to focus on the end users, both teachers and students, and give them all of the information they need in an engaging and interesting way.“We believe that we have done that here, and look forward to PDZ being a core part of primary school teaching on this subject.”

BETT (British Education and Training Technology), is dedicated to showcasing the best in UK and international educational technology products, resources and best practice, and has enabled thousands of practitioners to enhance their knowledge of learning through technology.
